António Alomar pitched a gem to lead Northern Virginia to a 12-1 victory over the Atlanta Smoke. Alomar, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. Northern Virginia is now 8-9.

Also making an impact was right fielder JoJo Victory, who drilled a run-scoring triple in the top of the fourth inning for the Rainbow Mermaids. For the game, Victory was 2-4 with 2 triples, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Alomar told the Northern Virginia Bulletin.
