The Vancouver Grey Wolves moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Richardson City Thundercats on the road at The Thunder Dome by a score of 10-5. Grey Wolves left fielder Urs van Munster was named player of the game after he went 5 for 6 with 5 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win gives the Grey Wolves a - advantage in the best-of- Round 1.
Gerardo Ponce de Leon, who is rated as the 91st best prospect by BNN, helped out the Vancouver cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the second baseman went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He scored 2 runs.
