Almost There: Quebec City On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 9-5 Win
|
The Quebec City Les Bleus moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Portland Evergreens on the road at Evergreen Park by a score of 9-5. Les Bleus first baseman Lane McCool was named player of the game after he hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. The win gives the Les Bleus a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.
Quebec City right fielder Scott Janousek helped the Les Bleus go up, 4-2, in the top of the second inning. With the game tied, Janousek hit a 2-run single off Portland pitcher Keith Rojas.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Janousek said. "We did a good job of that today."
