Worobtsoff, Echo Park Start Third League Championship Strong with Home Win
|
The Echo Park Lakers are one game away from a sweep after a 6-4 win over the visiting Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at LA Forum today. Lakers right fielder Zhenya Worobtsoff was named player of the game, as he was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Echo Park now holds a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the sixth when Worobtsoff, who is rated as the 34th best prospect by BNN, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Lakers into the lead, 5-4.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Worobtsoff told a Echo Park Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
