An all-important Game of the Round 1 went into extra innings at The Cattle Pen, with the Boston Patriots eventually emerging on top. Boston has Jorge Alejándrez to thank, after the third baseman was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the 6-5 victory. The Patriots are now one game away from the Round 2, holding a - lead in the best-of- series.

One important at-bat for Boston came with two out in the top of the ninth inning. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Alejándrez hit a run-scoring single, which contributed to the Patriots win.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Alejándrez said.
