Victory Pushes Athletic Club KC Record to 12-11
|
The Athletic Club KC defeated the Richardson City Thundercats, 6-4. Earning player of the game honors was right fielder Jesús Vargas, who went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win was credited to Daniel Katz in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Miguel Aguilar took the loss. The Athletic Club KC bumped their record to 12-11 with this latest triumph.
Had Wu-shun Chu not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Chu hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Athletic Club KC.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Chu said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
