Thundercats Suffer 8-4 Loss to Fenix
|
New Jersey third baseman Shiki Sanu made his presence felt in the 8-4 Fenix triumph over the Richardson City Thundercats. Sanu went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jimmy O'Flahavan was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 7 strikeouts. Joey Dudley earned the save, his 1st, for the Fenix.
Sanu contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for New Jersey in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-3, Sanu took a fastball from Miguel Aguilar and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Fenix to leap in front, 5-4.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager James Wilson said.
The Fenix are off to an underwhelming start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 4th win in 9 games.
