Northern Lions BC Win at D.C., 4-1
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC topped the D.C. Divided, 4-1, in United States Silver League action at Washington Stadium. The player of the game was Thunder Bay pitcher Rafael Cardona. Cardona got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 9 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. Cardona allowed 1 earned run. Dino Moonglampers closed the game out for Thunder Bay, earning his 1st save.
Joe Aller went 2-4 with 2 singles. He scored 2 times for Thunder Bay. The 26-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Trevor Brohard. It was his 4th RBI of the season.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Aller told the Thunder Bay Citizen.
