Smoke Lose to Flamingos, 7-4
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos dealt the Atlanta Smoke a 7-4 loss at Smoke Ballpark. Sake van Arem was the star on offense. He was 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Marvin Martin got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in 6.1 innings. Cris Herrera finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
van Arem had a key at-bat for Las Vegas early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and gave Las Vegas an early 1-0 lead.
"I like our moxie," said Flamingos manager JJ Hoban.
Las Vegas, now 7-4, has played well in the early going.
