Las Vegas got a terrific performance from pitcher Sy-ing Tah, but it wasn't enough to beat the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids. Northern Virginia won the The Strip contest, 4-3. Tah was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings allowing 2 runs. Christian Mustard was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 19 of 23 save opportunities. The Rainbow Mermaids' win now puts them at 63-40.
It could have been a different outcome for Northern Virginia, had it not been for Juan Jose Ayala, the 2031 Gold Bat winner . Ayala contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Northern Virginia up, 4-3.
"I felt good up there," said Ayala. "I saw the ball well."
