The Las Vegas Flamingos got a superb performance from pitcher Sy-ing Tah, but the Atlanta Smoke still won the game, 4-3. Tah was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Atlanta reliever Francisco García was the winner. His record is now 1-3. The losing pitcher was Sy-ing Tah. Even with the win, the Smoke have a dismal 24-74 record.
Had Jeff Lawson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Lawson hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Smoke.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Atlanta manager Scott McMahon.
