BC Take Down Patriots, 3-1
|
The Philadelphia 1776 BC got a stellar performance from pitcher Ryan Bentley, who handcuffed the Boston offense en route to a 3-1 win at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum. Tony Solíz was credited with the save for Philadelphia 1776, his 16th of the season. Philadelphia 1776 is now 44-52, Boston 43-53.
In the bottom of the fifth, Philadelphia 1776 second baseman Sam Quint had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 3rd and two out, Quint stroked a 2-run home run to right. It made the score 3-1, Philadelphia 1776. For the game, he was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Philadelphia 1776 manager Josh Swain. "It's usually not just one thing."
