Patriots Come Back Late to Top Hotspur
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Despite a great performance by Phoenix catcher Corey Ferguson, the Boston Patriots defeated the Hotspur by the score of 7-4 at Chase Field. Ferguson went 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. Reliever Glenn Butler picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Roger Taylor took the loss. Eugene Clarkston was credited with the save for Boston, his 1st of the season.
Jorge Alejándrez, who is rated as the 23rd best prospect by BNN, contributed to the Boston win with a 2-run single in the top of the eighth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Alejándrez said (again).
The Hotspur, now 3-7, have been pitiful so far.
