Despite a fine performance by shortstop Roland Deschain, the Boston Patriots suffered a 5-4 loss to the Toledo Stingers. Deschain went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Melvin Tiburcio picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 1-0. The save was credited to An Jang-Yop, his 19th.
In the bottom of the third, Tural Bishara hit a 3-run home run for Toledo. The 22nd home run of the season for the Toledo center fielder put the Stingers on top, 4-1.
"We found a way to get it done," Bishara said.
The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Stingers.
