Voodoo Clip Legion in Tight Contest

New Orleans and Kingston Township duked it out at Cloverdale Legion Park and the Voodoo came out victorious.
The New Orleans Voodoo faced a tough opponent in Kingston Township pitcher Ray Goolsby, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Cloverdale Legion Park by a final score of 5-2. Goolsby went 7.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. New Orleans reliever Austin Aries was credited with the win, to go to 4-4. Anthony Ledesma took the loss for Kingston Township. Bob Roth closed the game out for New Orleans, earning his 10th save.
Had Claudio Tappen not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Tappen hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Voodoo.
"We did a lot of things right," said Tappen.
New Orleans has run its win streak to 6 in a row.
