Lakers Best 1837 BBC in Pitching Duel
|
Echo Park right-hander Mark Collingwood made an effective start against the Houston 1837 BBC at LA Forum, leading his team to a 2-1 win. Jeffery Prosser, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 14th save. Echo Park is now 42-37. Houston is 43-36.
The Lakers got a lift from right fielder Toby Sutton who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning off Javier Desdin. It was his 20th RBI of the season and put Echo Park in front, 2-1.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Sutton told the Echo Park Chronicle. "You win just by scoring more runs."
