Voodoo Solve Pandas, 5-2

The New Orleans Voodoo picked up a win at The Voodoo Lounge, knocking off the Montana Pandas, 5-2. Starting pitcher Corn Elder, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Elder, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Austin Aries closed the game out for New Orleans, earning his 7th save.
The Voodoo got a big at-bat from designated hitter António Pérez. For the game, Pérez went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave New Orleans a 2-1 lead.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Pérez. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The Pandas, at 3-47, have lost 4 in a row.
