Rainbow Mermaids Lose to BC, 2-1
|
The Philadelphia 1776 BC eked out a 2-1 win versus the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Atlantica. Nobody did more than pitcher Masami Kogawa, who captured player of the game honors. Kogawa got the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked 4 over 8 innings. Kogawa allowed 1 earned run. Tony Solíz earned the save for Philadelphia 1776, his 11th of the year.
The result might have been different for Philadelphia 1776, had it not been for Sam Quint. The second baseman produced a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the BC ahead, 2-1. For the game, Quint had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Quint told a Philadelphia 1776 Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
Philadelphia 1776 now has a 3-game win streak.
