Gold Sox Pull Even With 5-1 Victory
Wolf Den in Vancouver was the site for United States Premier League action featuring the Vancouver Grey Wolves and Chicago Gold Sox.

Jesús Franco never let the Grey Wolves get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Gold Sox to a 5-1 win. Franco went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 5-3.

Lupo Cotto, who is rated as the 10th best prospect by BNN, contributed to the Chicago win with a solo home run in the top of the second. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Cotto told reporters after the game.
