Stingers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Evergreens
|
The Portland Evergreens got a superb performance from pitcher Jorge Otero, but the Toledo Stingers still won the game, 9-3. Otero was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Toledo reliever Bill Edmonds was credited with the win, to go to 2-1. César Albó took the loss for Portland. Toledo is now 25-20, Portland 34-11.
Dylan Carson tagged a home run off César Albó in the bottom of the eighth. His 3-run blast put the Stingers on top, 4-3. In all, Carson had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We did a lot of things right," said Carson.
