Rainbow Mermaids Win in 14
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids outlasted the Boston Patriots, 4-3, in 14 innings. Zahid Kashani led the way, going 3-for-6 for Northern Virginia. The winner was Northern Virginia reliever Christian Mustard, now 1-0. The loser was José García. The loss lowers the Boston record to 0-5.
Kashani had a game-changing home run in the top of the 14th. On a first pitch slider from José García, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Rainbow Mermaids a 4-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Kashani.
"I was a little disappointed," said Boston manager Tyler Carter. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
