Smoke Stumble, Lose to Evergreens
|
The 2033 season is getting ugly for Atlanta.
The Portland Evergreens dealt the Atlanta Smoke a 9-4 loss at Smoke Ballpark. Adrián Gómez was the star on offense. He went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Yoo-chul Mun was the winner. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts. Roberto Calderón closed the door for Portland, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Gómez had an important at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the first, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Evergreens went on to win.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Gómez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The Smoke, now 6-22, have lost 6 straight.
