Northern Lions BC Lose to Dutchmen, 3-2
The New Amsterdam Dutchmen got a strong performance from pitcher Kyle Boddy, who stymied the Thunder Bay offense en route to a 3-2 win at Dutch Master Park. In 8 innings, Boddy surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Nelle Liefting got the save, his 10th in 11 chances.

Pedro Santos drove in one run for New Amsterdam. The 34-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jesús Vidro. It was his 23rd RBI of the season.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Dutchmen manager Bill Cheese. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."

New Amsterdam currently is in last place in the Silver League at 39-61.
