Merritt on Fire, Strikes out 16 Expos Tuesday, August 10th, 2032 Valley Blue Sox starter Jeff Merritt brought his best stuff to The Heron Refuge today against the Niagara Falls Expos, striking out 16 batters in his club's 4-3 victory. In a strong performance, the 22-year-old Merritt gave up 6 hits in his 8 innings of work and issued 2 walks. "I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my change up was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me."
