Misfits, Hayward Blank Highlanders Tuesday, August 7th, 2029 22-year-old Salem Misfits pitcher Damien Hayward had a strong outing against the Asheville Highlanders at Ricochets Ballpark today, keeping them off the scoreboard the whole game. He struck out 10 in the 11-0 win and walked 2 while surrendering 3 hits. "Hopefully there will be plenty more of these in the future for us," he said. So far this year Hayward has made 17 starts, tossed 126.2 innings, struck out 99 batters and walked 39. His record is 11-1 with a 2.27 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .222 batting average.
