22-year-old Salem Misfits pitcher Damien Hayward had a strong outing against the Asheville Highlanders at Ricochets Ballpark today, keeping them off the scoreboard the whole game. He struck out 10 in the 11-0 win and walked 2 while surrendering 3 hits.

"Hopefully there will be plenty more of these in the future for us," he said.
