Montana Snaps Valéncia's Streak at 22
Wednesday, August 1st, 2029
For 22 straight games, José Valéncia tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy.

Well, the 22-year-old Buckhead Bowties center fielder can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the Montana Pandas. The Pandas held him hitless in 4 at-bats at 5 Paces Park today and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 22.

There was at leas one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Bowties took the win by the score of 2-0.

"I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now."

Valéncia is hitting .338 so far this season with 17 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 90 hits including no home runs, 21 walks and .388 OBP.
