The Buckhead Bowties fell to the Portland Evergreens in Evergreen Park today, even as 22-year-old center fielder José Valéncia upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Valéncia finished with 1 hit in 4 at-bats, but could not stop the Bowties from dropping the 3-0 decision.

"Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Valéncia.
José Valéncia struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and singled in the 8th.

This year Valéncia has collected a .344 batting average to date with 88 hits in 256 at-bats, 17 RBIs, no home runs and scored 32 times. He has played in 65 games.
