Hawks, Machen Blank New Amsterdam Wednesday, July 4th, 2029 Michael Machen of the Chicago Hawks humiliated the New Amsterdam Dutchmen at Hawks Ballpark today, spinning a complete game shutout and holding the visitors to 2 hits. "He's got a bunch of different arm angles and his ball was really moving," said New Amsterdam manager Sal Gaudio, after the game. Machen whiffed 10 and walked 1 in the 3-0 win. "If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Machen said. "I was making good pitches the entire game." So far this year Machen has made 6 starts, tossed 43.1 innings, struck out 33 batters and walked 9. His record is 2-1 with a 2.49 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .210 batting average.
