Ortíz and Díaz Brawl, League Suspends Them Saturday, September 15th, 2029 After an intense confrontation, both the Flamingos Sergio Ortíz and the Pandas Eduardo Díaz were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Las Vegas-Montana game. Both players will miss 2 games as a result of their actions. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Sergio Ortíz commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Ortíz is hitting .280 this year with 18 home runs and 72 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .358, 45 walks and scored 57 times. So far this year Díaz has nailed down no saves. His won-lost record is 6-1 with a 3.96 ERA. |
