Rodríguez Delivers Walk-Off Win for Divided
|
The Detroit Renaissance got a superb performance from pitcher Javier Castillo. Still, it wasn't enough to beat D.C.. The Divided won the game, 2-1. In spite of the loss, Castillo was named the player of the game. He threw 9 innings of 4-hit ball. D.C. reliever Jesús Prieto picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jaime Carrión shouldered the loss. The winning streak has now reached 6 games for D.C..
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Arturo Rodríguez came to bat in the bottom of the 15th. Facing Detroit pitcher Jaime Carrión, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting D.C. on top, 2-1.
Rodríguez called the triumph "a good team win."
