Rainbow Mermaids Win at Wizarding, 8-3
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids beat the Wizarding Express, 8-3, at Platform 9 3/4. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Brett Callison, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs. Arnie Pittman earned the win for Northern Virginia. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. The win gives the Rainbow Mermaids a record of 11-9.
In the top of the second, Eustacio Tafalla hit a run-scoring triple for Northern Virginia. The 1st triple of the season for the Northern Virginia left fielder put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 1-0.
