Nuggets Win Thriller, 5-4
|
The Rocky Mountain Nuggets downed the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 5-4, at Nuggets Park. Wes Shannon led the way, going 3-for-5 for Rocky Mountain. Rocky Mountain currently is in 4th place in the Silver League at 41-40.
Shannon had a game-changing triple in the bottom of the 13th. On a 2-0 fastball from Jamel Rhoads, he banged a run-scoring triple to right, giving the Nuggets a 5-4 lead. It was the 3rd triple of the year for Shannon.
"I was a little disappointed," said Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
