Divided Need Extra Frames to Get Past Middies

Grafton got a terrific performance from pitcher Daniel Martínez, but it wasn't enough to beat the D.C. Divided. D.C. won the Washington Stadium contest, 3-2. Martínez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings allowing 1 run. D.C. reliever Gabriel Hidalgo got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Dylan Silva was tagged with the loss. D.C. improves to 44-31 with the win. They lead their division by 3 games.
The Divided got a big at-bat from center fielder Julián Salcido. For the game, Salcido went 3-5 with 3 singles. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 24th hit of the season gave D.C. a 3-2 lead.
"This is a very good team," said Salcido. "We have the chance to do something special."
