Renaissance Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Nuggets
|
The Detroit Renaissance picked up a win at Nuggets Park, knocking off the Rocky Mountain Nuggets, 3-2. Starting pitcher Domingo Ramírez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. In 8 innings, Ramírez surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. The Renaissance' win now puts them at 30-42.
The most important at-bat for Detroit came in the top of the ninth inning, when catcher Quincy van Enk stroked a 1-1 curveball to left for a 2-run single, putting Detroit up, 3-2.
"It's a mindset," said Ramírez. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
