BC Win in Glorious Fashion
|
Benefiting from Tony Vega's productive game, the Philadelphia 1776 BC downed the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 8-6. Vega was 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the BC. Philadelphia 1776 reliever Carlos Ramos picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Asher Spivey was saddled with the loss. Philadelphia 1776 has now won 3 straight, while the Cattlemen have lost 3 in a row.
Jeff Rutherford was the walk-off hero for Philadelphia 1776. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the BC designated hitter hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
Vega told a Philadelphia 1776 Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
