Game was big. So was Jesús Franco.
The Boston starter rose to the occasion at Chase Field today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Patriots to a crucial 4-1 victory over the Phoenix Hotspur. Franco threw 8 innings allowing 1 run as the Patriots won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- Round 2030.
Boston designated hitter Jorge Velázquez helped the Patriots go up, 1-0, in the top of the fifth inning. With the game tied, Velázquez hit a run-scoring single off Phoenix pitcher Miguel Rubia.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Franco.
Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday, October 10th, 2029. The scheduled starters for the game are Alejandro Guerra for the Phoenix Hotspur and José García for the the Boston Patriots.
