Phoenix Wins Game in Extras; On Verge of R2031
The Phoenix Hotspur took the first game of the Round 2030 in dramatic fashion today, topping the Boston Patriots 4-3 in an extra-inning walk-off win. Hotspur left-hander Wes Hamm was selected player of the game, as he threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball.

Phoenix won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Folkert van Huizen on the mound for Boston, left fielder Francisco García hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Hotspur fans to their feet.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," García told reporters after the game.

Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at Chase Field in Phoenix. The scheduled starters for the game are Jesús Franco for Boston and Miguel Rubia for Phoenix.
