Almost There: Vancouver On Cusp of R2030 Triumph After 8-0 Win
On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot Grafton Middies team, the Vancouver Grey Wolves had a tough assignment. Preston Witt delivered.

The Grey Wolves first baseman was unstoppable for the visitors, as he was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once in guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 8-0. Witt, 26, was named player of the game for his efforts. The win means Vancouver now trails - in the best-of- series.

Ted Striker, who is rated as the 35th best prospect by BNN, aided the Vancouver cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the first. For the game, the left fielder went 1-3 with a walk.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Witt said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
