Pivotal Game Goes to Host Rainbow Mermaids, 12-2
|
Northern Virginia right fielder Rafael Sánchez was the key at Atlantica today, being named player of the game as he powered the Rainbow Mermaids to victory in a critical Game of the Round 2030. The Rainbow Mermaids took the 12-2 win over the Portland Evergreens to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.
Northern Virginia second baseman Colt Cabana helped the Rainbow Mermaids go up, 1-0, in the bottom of the second inning. With the game tied, Cabana hit a run-scoring single off Portland pitcher Giovanni Mireles.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Sánchez told reporters after the game.
The next game is scheduled for Tuesday, October 2nd, 2029 at Evergreen Park in Portland. Slated to start are Javier Desdin for the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and George Eisenhauer for the the Portland Evergreens.
