Pivotal Game Goes to Host Patriots, 5-2
|
The Boston Patriots moved to within one game of the Round 2031 today, downing the visiting D.C. Divided at Dunkin Donuts Park by a score of 5-2. Patriots center fielder Tommy Jones was named player of the game after he was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win gives the Patriots a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2030.
Bonao, Dominican Republic-born Juan Tapia came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd and the Patriots trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run double to left-center to put Boston on top.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Tapia told the Boston Today.
The next game is scheduled for Tuesday, October 2nd, 2029 at Washington Stadium. Slated to start are Jesús Franco for the Boston Patriots and Wally Copeland for the the D.C. Divided.
