Almost There: Atlanta On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 10-2 Win
The Atlanta Smoke moved to within one game of the President's Shield today, downing the visiting Richardson City Thundercats at Smoke Ballpark by a score of 10-2. Smoke right-hander Fraser Cuevas was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives the Smoke a - advantage in the best-of- Play-In.

Melito Báez, who is rated as the 36th best prospect by BNN, aided the Atlanta cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the first. For the game, the second baseman went 2 for 4 with a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3.

"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Báez.
