Richardson City designated hitter Tomás Martínez was the key at The Thunder Dome today, being named player of the game as he powered the Thundercats to victory in a critical Game of the Play-In. The Thundercats took the 8-4 win over the Seattle Aviators to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.

Louis Gibbons, who is on pace to hit 21 home runs this season, aided the Richardson City cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Martínez told the Richardson City Citizen.
