Almost There: Austin On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 4-0 Win
Facing elimination, the Austin Rangers were looking for a savior. For today, at least, Kyle Boddy delivered.

At Atlantica, the 28-year old pitched a game for the ages to fend off the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and help the Rangers close their deficit in the Play-In. Boddy threw a 9-inning, complete-game shutout in the 4-0 Austin win, striking out 6 and allowing 6 hits. The Rangers how trail - in the best-of- series.

The Rainbow Mermaids had trouble solving Boddy, who surrendered no earned runs on 6 hits over 9 innings.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Boddy. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
