Host Hotspur Drop Pivotal Game , Now Trail Series -
|
Game was big. So was George Frazier.
The Philadelphia 1776 starter rose to the occasion at Chase Field today, earning player of the game honors after leading the BC to a crucial 3-2 victory over the Phoenix Hotspur. Frazier threw 6 innings allowing 2 runs as the BC won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- Silver League Championship.
In the top of the 6th, shortstop Jesús Cabañe gave Philadelphia 1776 the lead when he hit a 2-run home run. The BC had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out home run off Phoenix pitcher Wes Hamm changed that -- and Philadelphia 1776 went on to win.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Frazier told reporters after the game.
