Host Renaissance Drop Pivotal Game , Now Trail Series -
|
In a remarkable effort, Ryan Peterson single-handedly kept the Portland Evergreens in the playoffs.
The Portland Evergreens right-hander threw a complete game shutout on the road to prevent a Detroit Renaissance sweep, striking out 9 along the way. The Evergreens needed all he had, as their own offense struggled to get into gear. The 2-0 Portland win means the club now trails - in the best-of- series.
The Renaissance had trouble solving Peterson, who surrendered no earned runs on 4 hits over 9 innings.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Peterson.
