The Buckhead Bowties moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Houston 1837 BBC on the road at Houston Grounds by a score of 9-2. Bowties second baseman Vojtech Farkas was named player of the game after he went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The win gives the Bowties a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.
Had Farkas not come through in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Farkas hit a 2-run double. The Bowties never looked back after taking the 4-2 lead.
"It was a solid team effort," said Farkas after the game.
