Closing In: Panama City Nears R2 With Dramatic Game Win
|
The Panama City Piranhas needed some last-minute heroics to do it, but ultimately emerged one game away from the President's Shield today. The Piranhas got the 3-2 win against the D.C. Divided in a walk-off at The Tank. Panama City left-hander Wayne Craig was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives the Piranhas a - advantage in the best-of- Play-In.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Panama City pinch hitter Rob Gray, facing Domingo Posadas, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Piranhas the 3-2 win.
Gray said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
