Still Kicking: Grafton Cut Buckhead Series Lead to - With Late Win
|
The Grafton Middies went into extra innings against the Buckhead Bowties but ultimately moved to within one game of the Round 2 today. The Middies downed the Bowties at 5 Paces Park by a score of 3-2. Grafton left-hander Luis Torres was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs. The win gives the Middies a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.
This game went down to the wire. In the top of the tenth, Ramón Gómez had a big at-bat. With two out, the Grafton left fielder reached on an error by the right fielder, driving in 1 run, to put his team up, 3-2.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Torres told the Grafton Herald.
