Still Kicking: Capital District Cut Rocky Mountain Series Lead to - With Late Win
|
The Capital District Red Knights went into extra innings against the Rocky Mountain Nuggets but ultimately moved to within one game of the Round 2 today. The Red Knights downed the Nuggets at Nuggets Park by a score of 6-1. Capital District right-hander Raúl Luna was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he threw 7 innings allowing 1 run. The win gives the Red Knights a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.
The most important at-bat for Capital District came in the top of the 11th inning, when catcher Pedro Álvarez stroked a 2-0 fastball to left for a run-scoring single, putting Capital District up, 2-1.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Luna. "I like it."
